I think it's great that Beckman is showing his scoring touch. If he can become a viable NHL scorer, it makes trading away someone like Fiala a little bit easier. This is a big year for Fiala with his overall game. Yeah, he can be nifty with the puck and can score, but he still turns it over a lot and is not nearly what he needs to be in the defensive zone. I hope he puts it al together and becomes a great player. But at the very minimum, I hope he scores like crazy. Because those goals will be him an attract tradable asset if his complete game can't come together.

And that's why I am glad to see Beckman showing. He could potentially be a replacement for Fiala, if he is actually traded. And that will give the Wild a few more years of a scorer at a relatively cheap price. Just wish I would have been able to watch the game and give my own 2 cents from seeing everything with my own eyes.

On a side note, looks like I'm gonna have to get the NHL ticket again this year, since there doesn't appear to be anything on the horizon for Bally Sports to be broadcast on anything except AT&T again.

Last season, I streamed all the games for free on sportssurge.net. I think it’s too early to think Beckman can replace Fiala. It’s one exhibition game. But it is a good sign. Hopefully, he’s the real deal. Right now they have Fiala for 1yr at a fair price. It’s going to be next to impossible to sign him if he has a good year with the 3 yrs following this one being a cap catastrophe.

I do not believe you can get streaming of NHL games this year from the NHL unless you are in Canada. Looks like ESPN is the US streaming option.

Sorry, yes, my mistake. I didn't mean that Beckman would replace Fiala this year...or really even next year at all. But I would say in 2 years, Beckman could possibly be on the roster and expected to carry some scoring weight. Not as a direct replacement, but as someone that can fill a scoring need. Should have explained what I meant a little better.

Eichel Is a sniveling cancer, I have zero Interest In giving up a kings ransom for a disgruntled rock star especially when the Wild are rebuilding.

I am really starting to doubt that Guerin wants Eichel in the lockerroom now. It just seems that he has a terrible attitude (at least that is the way he is being painted) and would just be problems for the team. Now, I would like to hear if his actual teammates really think of him. He might not be this pain in the arse that he is being painted to be. But to get him, I wouldn't be putting, like Shady said, a king's ransom up for him. Something along the lines of Greenway (or maybe Fiala, not sure), Khovanov, one of the Johanssons (preferably Simon as it now stands) and next years #1 pick.

If they Wild were ever to make the trade with Buffalo for Eichel, it's gonna have to be prospects and picks. The only current roster players that I see Guerin being willing to part with would be Greenway or Fiala. Maybe, and that's a very doubtful maybe, Addison. But if he is truly the headcase that he is being shown as, let him go somewhere else.

I'm not so sure the Wild are actually in a true, full blown rebuild. Let's just say the do trade for Eichel, based on what I listed above, and that means Greenway. Here is how that roster could look once Eichel is on the ice.

Zuccarello/Eichel/Kaprizov (this line should scare a lot of teams)
Fiala/Rossi/Boldy (could be exciting)
Foligno/Eriksson-Ek/Hartman (Ek becomes a very expensive lunchbox leader)
Sturm/Gaudreau/Bjugstad (nothing but blue collar here)

And that's just 1 trade. Doesn't look like a roster that is in rebuild mode to me. And what does the lineup look like it Beckman just keeps scoring? Are they really going to send him to Iowa? I still would like to get the eye test on his game, because I thought the case with Beckman was that he was kind of soft. But the comments from people like Guerin and Evason seem that he has quite a bit of grit to his game as well.

The Wild forward depth Is thin and I would have certainly considered picking up Brett Connelly on waivers from Chicago.

I'm starting to wonder if Brandon Duhaime and Adam Beckman have played themselves into roster spots that might have been more locked for Boldy and Rossi. Beckman just keeps shooting and actually scoring, and I keep reading that the coaching staff has fallen head over heels with Duhaime and his ability to play his role. Not going to be much more than a 4th liner, but his hustle and workmanship when he is on the ice. And just curious on this idea, but is the pickup of Pitlick a message to Rask that he is done at center? I wonder if BG is trying to find someone willing to take Rask for anything right now, preferably a player that has to go to the minors, relieving the Wild of some cap space. Granted, this is the final year of Rask, so basically he has become just a contract that expires this year.

Thinking all 3 of Addison, Boldy and Rossi start in Iowa. As it sits, unless something major happens, I think this is the revised starting lineup.

Zuccarello/Eriksson-EK/Kaprizov
Beckman/Gaudreau/Fiala
Greenway/Hartman/Foligno
Sturm/Pitlick/Duhaime (with Bjugstad & Rask sprinkled in)

And if Beckman is sent to Iowa as well, either Sturm or Pitlick move up to replace him. But that makes a helluva line in Iowa with Beckman/Rossi/Boldy as well.
